Club Results from the Weekend of 14-15Jun’24:

With the cancellation of the local AAU meet and the Corporate Cup Relays, it was a relatively quiet weekend for our club throwers. Maggie made the trip to Aurora, IL to compete at the mid-west’s throwers “field of dreams” (also known as Hammerman Field). Maggie had a great day, setting new PRs in hammer, javelin and discus. She added 4 ft to her PR in discus and a whopping 28 ft to her PR in hammer! The mark in hammer was a new MPTC Club Age Group Record!

Jennifer traveled to New York to take part in the Empire State Senior Games. She got her summer season off to a great start with a massive 3.5 meter PR in hammer! She also had near PRs in discus and javelin on the way to punching her ticket in all 4 events for the 2025 National Senior Games of America.

                – 33.19m (108’ 10”) – 3kg hammer – PR

We have several meets coming up as we approach the AAU Regional Meet in a few short weeks. The latter two meets require pre-registration so please get on it. If you are having any issues, please let me know and I'll try to assist.

Wed June 19th – Divine Child Summer Series (Dearborn) – All Ages (shot and discus only)

Sat June 22nd – Meijer State Games of Michigan (East Kentwood HS) – All Ages (all 4 implements)

Registration closes on June 17th!

USATF MI Association Open & Masters Outdoor T&F Championships @ Olivet College – 8Jun’24:

I was the lone representative at the USATF Michigan Open/Masters Outdoor Championships this year (Jennifer has a more ambitious summer schedule in the plans). I wasn’t as prepared as I would have liked to be (back/rib issue limited my ability to practice) but still managed to break 120ft in discus and even set a new PR in hammer. I exceeded the US Masters All-American T&F standards for hammer & weight (close on discus). Shot was disappointing. I have a lot of work to do there. Aside from that, I was happy with my first outdoor meet of the summer.

                   – 44’ 5.75” – 1st place weight
