Club Results from the weekend of 24Jun’23

Our club throwers were again spread out this weekend. A few of us competed at the Meijer State games of Michigan where we went 10 for 10 with first place finishes! Jennifer tied her PR in javelin and added over 9ft to her PR in hammer. I finally broke out of my slump in shot going over 39ft twice (including one that was off only one finger) and managed to throw my normal bad at hammer (instead of embarrassing myself as I did at the USATF MI Open/Master meet). Some day this old dog is going to learn how to throw the hammer properly!

Several of the Waza throwers that train with us took part in the Blazers Invitational that was held back at Albion College which has a really nice track venue. Highlights of the meet were PRs from Torran, William, Zoe and Aria in javelin, Aria hitting a new PR in shot and Teegan, Torran and William sweeping 15-16yr old javelin. Jordyn took part in the USATF Michigan Association Youth Regional Qualifier meet where she came home with a 1st in hammer and a pair of seconds in shot & discus.
