Results from the Shamrock Throws Series #2 - 17Jul'24:

Several of us headed out to Detroit Catholic Central High School last night to check out CC’s circles. They have a very nice set up with back-to-back triple shot and discus rings. The meet was well run (plenty of warm-ups and 6 throws each) and we were out of there in 1.5hrs! Highlights of the meet were double PRs for Mahari and Gabriel. Mahari added over 5 ft to her PR in shot put (breaking 30ft for the first time) and 6ft to her discus PR! Gabriel added 3 ft to shot and a massive 18ft to discus! He surprised me by asking to try a full spin in round 4 and was rewarded with a huge throw. Gabriel had been half turning prior to tonight and has been hesitant in practice to do full rotation despite my urging. I think he’s seen the light now! 😊 Maggie had another strong showing in discus (over 110ft again) but I was most excited about the last throw the got away to the right. That had some series zip.
